I am a huge fan of TimeHop, and seeing what I did one year ago, five years ago… and however long ago since I’ve had my social media accounts. I know it’s silly, but there’s just something about reminiscing about things that makes my heart happy. I like to know how far I’ve come.
It’s so important to measure those successes. What brought this on? One year ago today, with a fantastic team of vendors, I worked on my dream photo shoot. It will forever live in infamy as the day that I totally wept at a photo shoot because my dreams were coming true. What shoot was it? This fantastic one at The NorVa, that ended with a 9 page spread in Coastal Virginia Magazine and the cover.
You have to follow your successes. You have to measure them, and know where you were one year ago to today. It’s important to see growth, however large or small, and understand that you are totally fantastic. I think as small business owners, we get caught up in the stress of finding the next client, the next paycheck, etc., and sometimes we forget about the big picture. We forget to see how far we’ve come.
Since this shoot in the last year, the magazine came out, I started another business (www.isoalt.com), I’ve added two employees to Misty Saves the Day, and I’ve continued to grow and flourish and realize my dreams. I’m extraordinarily grateful to all the vendors that have helped me with all the incredible photo shoots, all the fantastic clients and their happiness that are the true measure of my success. Find something to measure your success by. Stay grateful and know that you haven’t done it by yourself. I’m so thankful for everyone that has helped me along the way, and I can’t wait to see that wonderful growth that continues to happen for Misty Saves the Day and all of our awesome clients.
