McCormick Law and Consulting

McCormick Law and Consulting are one of my clients that have invested in monthly photography sessions.  You’ve heard me talk about the advantages of having updated headshots.  You already know that showing off your team is my favorite soapbox.  A recent blog also showed how you can use that time to create fun and holiday specific content.  Well, John McCormick and his team just gave me one more reason why monthly content is so invaluable.

Your content should be able to highlight your growth and accomplishments in real time.

If you are an entrepreneur, there are moments in your business that are worth celebrating – whether that is hiring your first employee, reaching a financial milestone, or launching a new line of product.  You want to be able to share those milestones in a meaningful way.  Fuzzy iPhone pictures won’t do it.  Using stock photos won’t capture the emotions you are going for.  And there is nothing less exciting than trying to use old images to capture a new achievement.

Long story short:  it sucks when you can’t celebrate the way you deserve.

This gallery pulls from three months of content.  We used the warm weather of September and the colors of the Neon District to create headshots for John that are casual but still interesting.  The whole team came together in Portsmouth in October.  Between Legend Brewing Depot and the skyscraper backdrop, we were able to focus on individual headshots while still having time to show off the dynamics of the group.  But November is the real star.

McCormick Law and Consulting is no longer based solely out of Norfolk, Virginia.  They recently opened up a location in Raleigh, North Carolina!  We were able to use our November session to take some incredible images of John around Raleigh, including with the iconic “Raleigh Founded” mural by Mayanthi Jayawardena.  (We actually went to several places that have made me a fan of that area but that’s for another blog.). But it is not just about taking cool pictures in the city.

When they announced the Raleigh office, they immediately had the content to match it.

John’s announcement included the Raleigh skyline.  The picture gave you a sense of growth and adventure.  You can see the excitement on his face, and it’s hard not to feel excited, too.  The time we spent in Raleigh shows John exploring the city, including pictures at The Dillon,  the Wake County Courthouse, and a nightclub named Work.  He doesn’t just say that he is proud to be in Raleigh – he shows it.

But you wouldn’t necessarily know that if he didn’t have the content to back it up.

So, take the pictures and take them often.  Make sure that the images you share on your social media platforms are showing what is happening in your business as it is happening.  Don’t delay your bragging rights because you don’t have the visuals.  And if you don’t have the images you need, just contact me.

It’s that simple.

Cheers to McCormick Law and Consulting on their new expansion.  And cheers to me…because I’m already plotting all of the cool spots we can take advantage of the next time we head South.
