How Anna Builds Our Community

Official title: Director of Hospitality

That’s the role Anna stepped into after she and Misty had a conversation about expanding what her future at Misty Saves the Day could look like. One thing about Misty? She has a gift for seeing strengths in people before they even fully realize them themselves. As the company grows, she’s always looking for ways her team members can grow with it—not just by managing social media accounts, but by stepping into roles that align with who they are naturally.

For Anna, that role came to life during what she describes as a “meeting of the minds” with Misty. They talked about how much Anna loved being a social media manager, but also how she felt called to do more.

Anna said one sentence that sparked the entire idea:
“I don’t know what more looks like, but I love people.”

And if you know Anna, that statement makes perfect sense.

She loves people. She loves being involved in the community, seeing clients in person, and connecting with coworkers beyond a screen. While so much of social media management happens behind computers and phones, Anna thrives in the face-to-face moments.

So what happened next?

“About 10 minutes after the meeting, Misty called me back and said, ‘Dude, I’ve totally got it!’”

And just like that, the role of Director of Hospitality started taking shape.

Now, Anna helps create meaningful moments for both our clients and our team. She receives messages from staff when important life events are happening—think weddings, new babies, surgeries, loss of a loved one or pet, deployments, thank-you moments, and more. From there, she thoughtfully curates gifts and care packages that make people feel seen and supported. And because she’s Anna, she tries to hand-deliver them whenever possible.

We love social media. We love online collaboration. But we also believe the in-person moments matter just as much.

The simple acts of “we see you” and “we thought about you” are what truly build community.

And Anna has become such a huge part of that.

What makes this role even more special is that it extends beyond clients—it supports our team, too. From deployment baskets to surgery recoveries to helping a coworker’s family during a child’s medical procedure, Anna brings care into moments that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

One example that stands out: when one team member’s baby needed surgery, Anna put together a care package full of activities for their older children. It’s those thoughtful details that embody the phrase, “it takes a village.”

Anna says:
“It’s really such a dream role (in addition to what I already do here at MSTD) because I love people, love social situations, love seeing people smile, and love our community so, so much. We’ve joked that the ‘fun’ title for this role could be Dream Weaver—cue the song hahaha.”

Honestly? That title fits her pretty well. Anna truly helps weave together the relationships, care, and community that make Misty Saves the Day what it is.
