When I was planning these Cape Charles headshots, originally, it was just for Colby Raymond. Shortly after, I started talking to Chelsea Axelrod about updating her content, and she expressed going to her happy place to also do a round of headshots there. Fortunately, these two are friends and work together often, so what could’ve been just a one-hour headshot session ended up being a half day of fun and adventure, golf-carting around Cape Charles, seeing the sights, eating good food, and having a great time.
If you haven’t been to Cape Charles, it’s time to make plans to go!
If you’ve never had the opportunity to visit the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Cape Charles has a lot to offer. We’ve been working with businesses over there for a few years now, and I go over a few times a year, whether for the day or a weekend. Places you can’t miss? Chuckletown Productions, Peach Tree Books, Chessie’s (opening soon!), Hotel Cape Charles, Shanty’s, Moonrise Jewelry, K-Coast, Table and Tonic… the list goes on. The distillery is awesome, the brewery is great, the food is awesome, and it’s great for a weekend away, a day trip, or, I’d imagine, would be a wonderful place to live.
That’s part of the reason that Chelsea and Colby wanted to do their content photos over there. Chelsea is a Realtor, and Colby is a mortgage lender, and they’ve been working together to help people find homes in Coastal Virginia for a while now. Chelsea is building a home in Bay Creek over there, and as I said before, calls Cape Charles her happy place, and man, that’s the truth.
Here’s a preview for their session – I had an absolute blast with them.
Table & Tonic
If you need to find a great gift, Table and Tonic has some great options, great things for drinks, and an awesome deli in the back in case you want to eat something delicious on the go while you’re there!
Peach Tree Books
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with Peach Tree Books. They’ve got an awesome selection of books, a coffee shop that makes amazing coffee inside, and awesome humans that work there, too. Chelsea brings her kids there when they go to Cape Charles, so she did a great job showing off the place where she finds books for them.
Shanty’s
I basically always want seafood, and Shanty’s has one of the best fried shrimp baskets around. Colby and I each got one, and Chelsea got the tacos, and those looked pretty incredible, too.
These awesome humans took a break from their session to save the sea creatures from a balloon that ended up in the water, so of course I had to document it. Keep track of your balloons, y’all. You never know where they end up.
We had the most beautiful day to do these Cape Charles headshots, and I’m so thankful that I got to galavant around, shop, and have a great time on a golf cart with these two. I’ve got the coolest job and get to meet the absolute best people.
