Thanksgiving it a great time to talk about thankfulness, but let me be clear – I’m thankful for SO much all the time, all year round. I know that my life could look a million times different if it wasn’t for the people in it that propel it and me to be what it is. I know that my business wouldn’t be successful without my amazing clients. I know that I’m lucky that my friends are my family and I couldn’t live without them. In the spirit of thankfulness and Thanksgiving, though, I wanted to make a list (and then share my epic family pictures!) of the things that I’m thankful for.
1. My family. My husband is incredible and would do anything for anyone, and continues to go above and beyond that statement for me and our girls. My kids, for however crazy they are, are a big ball of wonder and amazement and I love them for it. When I was looking through my family photos from Dragon Studio, I couldn’t help but want to be like them when I grow up. Piper, with all her excitement, love, and laughter. Wrenny with all of her curiosity and stubbornness. My kids managed to get the best of me in their own way – and I love getting to see them grow and become even more amazing (side note: Piper looks so grown up in these photos and I can’t deal).
2. My friends. My friends are my family as far as I’m concerned. I count myself lucky on the regular that I have these amazing people in my life that actually CHOOSE to be around me. It’s their choice, and they choose to hang out with me all the time, talk me off the ledge, trust me with their problems, and make me laugh on a daily basis. Friendship is what a good life is made of. They say that you act like the five people you hang out with the most. In that case, I’m happy to have the friends that I have, because if I could be half as amazing and successful as them, I’ve done something right.
3. My clients. When I started Misty Saves the Day 2 years ago, I don’t think I could’ve dreamed the success that it’s seen so far. I’m excited to have the amount of clients that I do, and I love how incredibly diverse they are. Whether they’re photographers, restaurants, wedding planners, educational retreats, hair salons – I’ve learned SO much about our industry while being able to impart the things that I already know on these businesses. It’s awesome.
There’s a million other things I could talk about. I could talk about how this last year has been one of the best of my life. I could talk about how fantastic the community is that we work in and that I’m lucky that it’s accepted me so readily. But take a look at these photos that Mike took of my family, and know that we’re all super grateful for all of you and your support and your love and know that we wouldn’t be where we are without you.
