You might remember Remi from an earlier post with her adorable family. We utilized their own home for the session and it makes sense when you consider that she works in real estate! Remi is part of the OWN Real Estate team and is making huge strides as a Hampton Roads Realtor. She originally moved to Virginia Beach to pursue a degree in Psychology and immediately fell in love with the area. She would eventually invest in local properties with her husband before organically transitioning into real estate. When you think about it, she brings an incredible duo of expertise.
She understands real estate AND people.
Purchasing a home can be stressful…to say the least. Having a Realtor that understands the logistics of real estate – while also being able to navigate what an emotional experience it can be – sounds like a win-win to me. Is there such a thing as empathic real estate, because that sounds pretty freaking cool to me.
Remi is also part of a growing group of professionals that are actively investing in their business by highlighting…themselves! Here’s the thing: Remi isn’t the only real estate guru in our area. Do a quick Google search and you’ll see pages of entrepreneurs who will gladly take your business.

Someone that can be a guiding force when you are navigating complicated issues. Hell, why not work with someone that you can have a little fun with in the process?!
Your website and social media presence is your opportunity to share yourself with your ideal clients. You can give them insight into who you are as person and how your personalty – coupled with your professional talents – are going to be a good fit for them. You know how you feel when you come across a post that references a shared passion? Maybe you find another woman declaring her love of coffee and you think “Me, too!” as you read their caption. That little jump in your stomach – that moment of realization that someone else values the same things as you – is a moment of connection. Connections stick with you and have a way of resurfacing in your memory.
Connections are entrepreneurial magic.
It means that you already have something to chat about when you meet your client for the first time. No need for an ice-breaker or awkward banter. Swap preferences at your local coffee shop before you get to business. Now, you’ve created an experience that feels like a pleasure rather than an obligation. Don’t downplay how much of an impact that can have on your success as a business owner.
