I’m not quite sure why seven feels so huge. We spent the day going out to eat, to get our nails done, to the movies – and are finishing it with a night out at her favorite restaurant. Piper is seven.
If you’ve never met her, she’s hilarious. She has a huge sense of humor and an even bigger heart. She loves people fiercely, and honestly friendships the exact same way that I do.
She’s 7, and she’s the coolest kid around, and I’m lucky that she’s ours.
This crazy thing happened the day after her birthday – her friend called her on the phone, and I had this insane moment. You know the kind that you know you’re going to remember forever? She ran into her room with my phone, shut the door, got on her top bunk and was hysterically laughing with her best friend from school. This. This is what it’s like to be a kid, this is what it’s all about. I’m also pretty sure this is the start of what it’s like to have a teenager. I thought we had more time.
