The camping adventures that have been happening this year have been nothing short of freaking magical. There’s just something about going on vacation with family and friends that’s awesome. Let me not lie to you: it was cold as shit on this trip. Like, unreasonably cold. And ALL of our kids were rockstars. Let’s be clear – only ONE kid made it all three nights (that was the awesome Anne-Marie Dragon) – the rest took breaks on nights that it was too cold and came back or left a night early. But that’s why you camp locally when you camp with kids – because if someone needs to make a run for it – you can. Even at 3am when Wren couldn’t sleep (that was Chris. He made the run for it with her). One of my favorite nights was the coldest night – which involved a possum named Kyle and a Raccoon named Dillon (or was it the opposite? I have no idea).
There are an obscene amount of photos to share with you from this awesome trip. There were adventures at the campsite:
The multiple adventures to the park were equally fun. You also have to admit that the girls were INCREDIBLY cute in their matching coats. Like. Undeniably cute.
And then more campsite adventures… that included fun photoshoots with the Dragon crew and the Prewitt crew. It was very entertaining.
And of course a trip to the beach, where we discovered that I really REALLY can’t skip rocks… It’s undeniable. I’m awful at it.
Then all the other beautiful things that come with camping. The things that make you want to go camping over and over and over again – the beautiful views (right here in Virginia Beach!), epic sunsets, starry night bike rides. The things that you don’t take pictures of (or many) because you’re just kind of taking it in. As the group historian (I kind of love my title), I love getting to look back on these things and the memories and the epicness that happened.
This was our last camping trip of the year. It bums me out that there won’t be another one for a while – but, don’t you worry. There’s already trips planned for 2020 that I cannot WAIT for!
