You know how you meet people and you just wish you could be friends? That’s how I felt about this family. They were so much fun. It was clear how much they love to get together every year for this trip to Virginia Beach. Getting to take First Landing family photos wasn’t the original plan – we were originally going to hit up the beach. The weather was tough the week that they were in town, so we pivoted to a place that might be a little more blocked from the wind and a little less tumultuous with the sand. We ended up at First Landing, which is one of my favorite places in Virginia Beach.
Sometimes in life, you have to pivot. This family understands that – and was ready for a great time, despite the weird weather and mosquitos and Elmo taking a swim in the bay.

That’s why we do this. That’s why I do it. You want to make sure everyone feels wonderful and amazing when they have their photos taken. I want people to leave with photos that look like the real memories of their time together. I think we succeeded for this wonderful group.
