Loren is awesome. If you haven’t met her, you’re missing out. I was lucky enough to go on a First Landing camping adventure with her recently and it was amazing. We spent SO much time in the water, and after spending so much time inside over the last few months, it was my safe space. We got super far out into the bay, hung out with pelicans, found our own private beach and hung out (twice), got our towels drenched by a Yacht parade, rode bikes, wiped out on bikes, rode out a storm, adorned the campsite with twinkle lights, found a new camping coffee, weathered a storm, and got moderately attacked by biting flies. There was an epic moon rise, stars, a crazy lightning storm, people watching (very few people, people watching), and all the fun.
Camping has been something that snuck up on me. I LOVED camping as a kid with my aunts. This was my first time for real without my kids in three months, so to get to have this time outdoors, away from (most) technology, and enjoying time with one of my best friends was exactly what the doctor ordered. I feel like it’s so important to make time for yourself – safely, effectively, and more. Owning a business is hard, and owning a business lately can be hard as you learn and adapt to whatever the world is going to throw at you. Taking this time away (and a few other trips that I’ll blog soon), meant everything.
