Oh, y’all.
Let me tell you about one of my favorite photoshoots ever. I definitely fulfilled a dream when The NorVa said “yes” to me styling a shoot there. I was fortunate enough to have the backing of the amazing folks at Coastal Virginia Bride to get me in the front door. I will be forever grateful to Melissa for reaching out to me to do this shoot – it was absolutely incredible.
The vendors that came together for this extraordinarily fun 8-hour day were amazing. I’m so fortunate that so many of them were able to stay, hang out with us all day, and even play some sweet tunes to keep us pumped. Be sure to see a full list of vendors at the bottom of this post.
Let’s be real. I’m going to have a really hard time choosing my favorites from this shoot. There’s a cell phone photo (and I think a real photo) of me on stage geeking out. I cried twice while we were there. One was when I saw the back of the camera of the first shot that I’m going to post in this blog, and the second was when I walked on stage.
Jeramie from Stage Right Lighting was so incredible. Every time I had an idea, or something I thought I wanted to do, he totally encouraged me to go for it – his knowledge and expertise of not only lighting, but the venue was completely invaluable to the success of the shoot. Mike Dragon of Dragon Studio was amazing as always (and was the one who took a photo of me on stage crying like a baby). Amy & Amanda from Mystique turned out three different incredible looks for our stunning bride and groom, Sara and Cody. Kristina from Mad Hatter Vintage Rentals hung out all day, helped set up tables, and more. Evelyn of Letterlyn designed an amazing invitation suite and hand-drew a stellar backdrop for our bride and groom. Kathy Forrest of Kathy Forrest Design provided our amazing florals, and they were better than I could’ve dreamed. Distinctive Event Rentals provided the perfect chairs, table and candleabra for our set-up. Those awesome ladies at Waterford Event Rentals came up with some super special linens for our table settings, and Jollity & Co. made a beautiful cake topper, acrylic name card, and brought some beautiful honeycombs to add to Stage Right & Letterlyn’s backdrop. Kisha from Hummingbird Macarons & Desserts is responsible for that yummy-looking cake (yep, it’s fake, but we can dream), and Montero’s showed up with some gorgeous (and delicious!) food for our shoot. House of Maya provided all of the beautiful attire. Woah!, an awesome 90’s cover band, played some great tunes that kept us excited, pumped, and totally added to the rock ‘n roll feel that we were going for.
Just incredible. Thank you guys, to the moon and back. You made my dreams come true.
