Milky Way Wedding Inspiration in Virginia with ISO:ALT

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved the stars.  When Mike, Chris and I went out to Gordonsville last fall to check out the Milky Way and go hiking, I got this undeniable feeling that we needed to do a Milky Way shoot.  I’m lucky that Mike of Dragon Studio was totally on board – and we turned it into a shoot designed just for ISO:ALT.    A Milky Way wedding inspiration was going to be perfect for the blog.

With this shoot, it was really about finding a unique take on stars and being sure that we caught the Milky Way at the perfect time.  Mike made it a point to not add in a single star, but to make sure that he captured the Milky Way just as we saw it when visited McDowell, Virginia in July with Liz from Behind the Veil.  You saw the blog with all the fun things that we did in the daytime (check it out here), but ultimately, this shoot was the true reason for the getaway.

There were hiccups, and it was stressful, but when I tell you that I literally cried in a field because the Milky Way was so beautiful and the shoot was actually happening – well, that’s true.  We chose McDowell because it was the darkest place in Virginia, so we’d get the best glimpse of the Milky Way from there.  There may have been one pesky cloud – but I promise we saw more stars than I’ve ever seen in my life.  Check it out below.
