Creative Mornings Virginia Beach | Virginia Business Education

Some might not call Creative Mornings Virginia Beach a Virginia Business Education group, but I do. I leave with something new and fresh for my business every time I go, every time I get to photograph something amazing. Education isn’t always tips and tricks or things that you need to be better in business, like books and checklists. For me, Creative Mornings is about finding inspiration in your dream, in your creativity, in the thing that you love. Inspiration leads to more education and leads to a spark that fires in you – and that’s one of the hardest things to keep up with as a small business owner.

September’s meeting theme was “Blossom” – and Roberta Lea did an amazing job stepping in and chatting about how her story has bloomed and developed over the years. A singer/songwriter, she’s worked hard to make her creativity and talent her life’s work – and she’s thriving. If that’s not inspiration, I don’t know what it. It wasn’t just about the dream thriving, though. She spoke about the times that things were tough, the times she wasn’t sure, the self doubt that goes into knowing you can do something bigger.

We all need inspiration sometimes, right?

If you feel like you need a dose of that inspiration, you should definitely come check out a Creative Mornings meeting. They’re the third Friday of every month. Creative Mornings is hosted at Creative Well Arts Foundation in ViBe Creative District. It’s sponsored by Adobe, which is also pretty cool. Another great part? It’s accessible to anyone in business. The meetings themselves are free to the public, and so worth the hour and a half that you spend there. From getting to know wonderful people in our community, to getting woven into the stories of how Virginia Beach grows – it’s pretty special. Take some time, put it on your calendar. For me, it’s about getting creative.

One of my favorite parts of photographing these events is that I get to stretch my photography muscles. There are not really any rules – other than taking headshots and making sure we get that group shot at the end.
