I’m not usually the one who gets to take proposal photos – not because I don’t want to, just because I’m not usually the first person people think of since I do so many business photos. Truly, the reason that I became a photographer was to capture moments like these. It’s even better when the two people that are getting engaged are two of your dear friends.
I knew (and Jonathan knew) that Melissa wanted a photographer at their proposal, so it was so cool that he asked me to be there. It was really hard to keep the secret, so I basically avoided everyone that I knew so I wouldn’t spill the beans. This happened the day after we got back from our Portland vacation – and was totally worth coming back to work a little earlier than I anticipated. There’s nothing like being creepy hiding with a long lens on the beach to capture a life-defining moment, truly.
Seeing Your Friends Get Engaged
It was pretty exciting to see my friends get engaged, but the thing that I love to do most is capture special moments – so the fact that I got to do that for them made it all the more sweet. These two love bloopers, so I definitely left some of those in there, too.
Virginia Beach Proposal Photographer
If you’re planning a proposal and want someone to capture it – I could be your photographer (or I know some other really great ones if you want some referrals!). I’d love to help, and I promise I can keep a secret – Melissa and Melvin are proof of that!
