Kiera Hill is amazing. That is the first thing you need to know. She took all of that amazing and paired it with passion to create a Norfolk wine boutique that is one of a kind. Vino Culture is more than a neighborhood wine shop. She hosts events – public and private – designed to teach you about wine so that you can understand how wines differ. Ever wondered what type of wine to bring for the holidays? She can help. (But really. She just hosted an event all about the perfect wines to pair with various Thanksgiving dishes. Really hoping she does something similar for Christmas!) She is a true believer in educating consumers about wine and even has a YouTube channel with hilariously fun videos. Despite all of these perks, we haven’t even mentioned my favorite yet. Vino Culture offers a wine subscription service.
Yep. You read that right. A Norfolk wine shop that offers a subscription service.
One of my favorite moments with Kiera is when she came to my home and offered a private wine tasting for my team. It was such a fun way to spend time with friends, learn from a talented sommelier, and enjoy wine in a new way. She freely shares her knowledge in a way that feels non-judgmental and encouraging. You get the impression that she genuinely wants you to feel empowered and knowledgeable when you walk into a wine shop. And it works. I’m no longer nervously pacing the wine selections only to eventually purchase a bottle with a pretty label. (We’ve all done it.). I understand what makes each wine different and how my personal preferences are shaped by those subtleties. She did that. She took the time to teach me in a way that was relatable and user friendly.
On top of being an incredible business owner, she is also a kick-ass teacher.
I love this gallery because it shows three different moments in time. It begins when she was just preparing her store front to open. You then get a peek into her grand opening, an event full of love, laughter, and big pours. The most recent time we spent together was to update her content and give her some fun new headshots. It’s such a timeline for how her life and her business have evolved over time. Vino Culture is now a major Norfolk wine destination and experience.
We may not have known we needed it, but we are certain we can’t be without it.
