I will never not want to take family photos. When I have the opportunity to do ViBe District family photos, though? I’m all in. I love the murals, I love the color, I love the silliness. Plus, whenever you can add walking into a family session, you generally keep everyone happy. It seems weird – but the downtime makes for a better time for everyone. No one wants a camera in their face for the full time of their session. It’s such a great way to lighten the mood, get to know people – and maybe help them adopt a sweet baby kitten (there’s more to that story).
This Blog is About to Be About Cat Adoption… On Accident.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the Shaw family since 2019 (which is wild!). We usually do something a little different every time, and this time, we went with ViBe. While we were walking around, I was talking about how Dragon Studio had been fostering kittens through Chesapeake Animal Services – and there was just ONE KITTEN LEFT that needed to be adopted. Her name is Olive and she’s tiny and cute and has the cutest little paws you’d ever seen. Tashena had been wanting to adopt a cat – and knowing that this cat already got along with other animals and kids AND needed a home? Well… the whole family was convinced.
Three or four days later, Olive went home with the Shaw family, and now they’ve got an adorable cat to love. Oh, and really great family pictures that also commemorate the day that they made such a fun decision. Don’t worry, though – the Dragons aren’t fostering for a while because they adopted two kittens AND I adopted two kittens – so I probably won’t try to convince you to adopt a cat at your family session.
