Creative Well Arts Foundation Opening | ViBe Business Photographer

One of the best parts about what I do is getting to meet great people and watch them do great things. I’ve gotten to know Tessa a lot over the last year working with Creative Mornings at the Garage. When she asked me to photograph the grand opening of the space next door, I was happy to do it. Somehow I’ve become known as a ViBe business photographer, and I’m not mad at it. I love it down there, I love everything they stand for – and the work that they’re doing at Creative Well Arts Foundation is amazing. Having a great arts community right here in Virginia Beach is super special. I grew up down the street from ViBe, on 12th and Mediterranean, in a house that doesn’t exist anymore. I used to walk by this space every day on the way to Virginia Beach Middle School.

It’s important to make your community better

It’s amazing to get to know people that want to make this community a better place. I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, so seeing how things have grown and changed over the years is amazing. It’s important to support things like Creative Well Arts and the arts community via ViBe Creative District. Organizations like these are shaping the face of our community, and I’m thankful to get to be part of it.

Kate Pittman with ViBe was surprised at the grand opening with a studio at Creative Well Arts that was dedicated to her. That might’ve been my favorite part of the whole day. It was so good to see friendship and appreciation for her work manifest into something so special. When you make real connections and real friends, good things happen.
