It’s hard to read or write about the Roc Solid Foundation without fighting some tears. They are an important organization with an incredible mission- to build hope for every child and family fighting pediatric cancer. I’ve been able to photograph the team in action on more than one occasion. Each time it has been a very incredible experience filled with lots of emotion.
Roc Solid puts its mission into action in many ways. One of those ways happens to be through the building and distributing of Ready Bags. The purpose of the Roc Solid Ready Bag is to provide everything a family might need for an unexpected hospital stay. The bags often include toiletries, a blanket, a tablet, games, and more. What’s bigger than the items inside the bag is the message it sends. It lets families know that they are not alone as they begin their journey of fighting pediatric cancer.
It is obvious that Roc Solid is so grateful for all its volunteers! For these particular photoshoots I captured some photos of the team as well as pictures of the volunteers in action. So many adults (and kids!) came together to help pack the Ready Bags that would soon make their way to hospitals around the country. Roc Solid’s goal is to keep this going until they reach 16,000 children affected by cancer. Take a look at the photos to see what they’ve been up to. I am inspired by their shirts that read “Build Hope”… they are so appropriate because that’s exactly what this incredible foundation is doing.
I would recommend checking out their website to see some of the amazing playsets volunteers build for local children. You can also see some photos I’ve taken of a playset build here. Hopefully reading this will inspire you today.
