The last time everyone was in town, we did all sorts of great team building activities – from education, to content photos to Norfolk pottery classes with long-time client All Hands Pottery. We’ve been working with Angela on her social media and content creation since 2019 and I’ve never taken a class. I’ve taken plenty of photos of them and always wanted to, but for one reason or another, it never worked out. I was so thankful to get to bring the team to meet Angela, hear her story on how she started, and make some cool pieces with her. Let me tell you – the wheel isn’t easy, but it’s a lot of fun.
You might notice Mike in these photos, even though he’s not an employee. He’s a big reason why we did this particular team-building exercise. Mike has taken their photos for us a few times when I wasn’t able to, and echoed the same way I felt – this would be something cool to do. He actually kept taking classes after this and still is, and is really good at it. A lot of the team was great at it. Me? Not so much – but I was so glad that I did it. I understood everything that Angela had been saying over the years about how the wheel can take away all the extra thoughts and worries in your brain. You really have to concentrate on what you’re doing, and find patience with yourself and the process.
If you’ve been thinking about taking pottery classes, I can’t speak more highly of Angela and the entire team at All Hands Pottery. They’ve got a warm, inviting space, and it was the perfect way to end our time together last March.
Stories Matter
It was so cool to see everyone get to experience what I get to every day. I hear business owner’s stories over and over again, but they don’t always get to. The team gets to know their own social media clients, but we’ve got 35+ at any given time, and not everyone is involved with them all. Having moments and experiences like this will definitely be part of the team get togethers moving forward.
