You know how you meet people and all of a sudden you see them everywhere? That’s what happened With Ashley Sickles. Patience MacCartney referred me to her a few months ago – and once she booked her session, I seemingly ran into her everywhere. I saw her at the Astro Golf Tournament, I saw her at the grand opening for a business she works with, and I saw her at the NACE Gala and Patience’s Christmas in July party. I feel like you meet people and you connect with them and sometimes you don’t get to see them again. It was a privilege to get to know Ashley and chat more the day of her session – and then keep that up everywhere else we ran into each other after. That’s why I do this! I do this to help people connect but also to connect with them. I’m not just a Norfolk business photographer – I’m a whole person. It’s important to remember that when you work with people. These businesses that we work with – there’s great people behind them. That’s definitely the case with Ashley.

Early morning sessions are my jam

Let’s be clear. I’m not a morning person at all. We live in an area that’s touristy and crawling with people, though, so morning sessions have been where it’s at. We don’t always have to do first thing – but we’ve got to choose the right timing when the light is right when we’re outdoors. That usually means early morning or right before the sun sets. You don’t want the bright mid-day if you can help it. I’ll do it – but these early morning sessions are way better.]
