One of the things that I love about working with Dragonfly Counseling (besides the fact that they’re great people)? I love that they want to be where the fun murals are. I feel like I’m kind of known for that – whether its in the Neon District in Norfolk or ViBe Creative District in Virginia Beach. I’m down to be a Neon Norfolk business photographer – even if your business isn’t based there. The walls and colors make for fun, eye-catching backdrops. I also tend to think that they put you in a good mood, but maybe that’s just me.
Growth comes from positive support in your work environment!
The crew at Dragonfly Counseling keeps growing every time I get to take their photos (I’ve done their photos for the last 3 years!) and it’s the best to see faces that I’ve seen over and over again – and meet new ones! It’s clear that everyone there loves what they do – and loves where they work. When you’re talking about mental health and mental health professionals, I think it’s crucial to be in an environment that’s positive like this one. It’s a tough profession, but they’ve got a team of people that love and support each other. I was just sad I couldn’t go hang out at Pixels with them after their session (to be clear – I was invited, I just couldn’t go!).
An even cooler part is one of their new mental health professionals is a bride that I got to meet second shooting a wedding with Dragon Studio – so it was so great to catch up with her again, too! I think that’s how this community is engrained. Coastal Virginia is like a web of people. It’s easy to stay in touch, because you’ll almost always run into them again. Staying in tune with people and businesses means that it’s that much easier for me!
Photos in Neon Norfolk?
My first headshots (of myself) were taken in the Neon District, so it’s always fun and special to make my way back there. If you ever want to do photos there – send me a message. I’m always down to switch things up and do something different, too.
