Working with Roc Solid Foundation has been one of the biggest joys that I’ve experienced since owning Misty Saves the Day. Seeing the change that they create for families affected by pediatric cancer not only in the Hampton Roads community but across the state, the coast, and the country is incredible. You can help fight pediatric cancer, too – and packing parties are just one of those ways.
I spent some time at First Advantage Federal Credit Union on Monday (a federal holiday), and they shut the place down to give back to the community. One of those ways was bringing in Roc Solid Foundation to do a Ready Bag packing party. Abel and his family came (you may notice him from the first shoot that I did with Roc Solid here). He was so much more chatty this time – and so freaking adorable. Kimber and her family came to help out, too.
It’s so great to not only see businesses come together to do things for families affected by pediatric cancer – but to see these families that have gone through it come to give back.
If you want to get involved, you totally should. You can host a packing party, host a playset build – or you can host a Ready Bag drive. You can do a drive for certain Ready Bag items that are needed (keep it specific – that way each Ready Bag is outfitted the same!). Learn more about how you can help here.
Oh yeah, and Piper got to come, too, since it was a holiday and she didn’t have school. I’m lucky to have awesome clients like Roc Solid Foundation that are kid-friendly!
