I first met Dan’s mom as she came in to get her hair done after me at Darling and Dapper. She mentioned that she was looking for an artist to work on Dan’s first tattoo. It was exactly what he wanted for his 18th birthday, they were having a hard time finding him an appointment. I knew Sierra Sunshine had an opening the very next day, so they got together and scheduled him immediately. Dan’s mom and I hit it off right away. One thing led to another and she asked me if I would photograph Dan’s senior photo session. Dan will be graduating from Cox High School with the class of 2020.
It has to be extremely difficult to be a senior in high school right now. There’s no big ceremony to walk in. Parties and prom are canceled. The teens have to stay focused on their studies from home, and that isn’t always easy. I know that with Dan’s positive and ambitious attitude he is certainly making the best of it. Dan will be attending ODU in the fall. I am so excited for him and happy to have met him and his mom.
These pictures were so much fun to take because Dan and his mom are two amazing people! Dan wanted something more nontraditional for his senior photo session, so we captured his cap and gown photos in front of the ViBe Disctrict’s bright murals for a unique feel. We got lots of shots around the murals, and then we moved to the beach. The boardwalk photos turned out exactly as I had hoped! I hope to take more photos for this incredible family in the future. If you’d like photos of your favorite graduate, let’s connect. Congratulations to Dan and the class of 2020!
