I love getting to meet people and see how their lives grow and change. I met Meredith in high school. Then, in another life, I sold her her wedding dress. After that, she called me about 8-ish years later to take her family photos. And now, two years later, we’re doing it again for this Back Bay family session.
The “why” of why I take photos ebbs and flows. Sometimes it’s because I want people to have memories. Other times it’s because I believe we should be confident in the content that we’re putting on social media. Ultimately, I believe in family photos the most. These are the things that I hold onto for my own family -and I want others to have to hold onto for theirs. It’s the reason I became a photographer – I wanted to have great photos of my family – but let’s be clear.
I don’t take my own family photos. I hire a photographer. You’ve got to try to hold onto the joy that comes with having someone else see things and glimmers in your family that you might not see yourself. Or maybe it’s the exact thing you’ve always wanted to capture but didn’t know how.
Here’s a few favorites from my time with this awesome family last week. And when I say a few… I mean a lot.
Wanna book family photos?
Send me a message today! We’re all booked up for June and July – and have only a few August dates left (with almost nothing in September!).
