9 Years

Today is my 9 year anniversary with my awesome husband, Chris.

You don’t see him a lot when I’m out and about.  He stays in the background – or sometimes, he’s home with our little girls so that I can be out networking and making things happen for Misty Saves the Day.

There are a lot of nights that he takes over bath time, gets dinner ready, picks the girls up and drops them off so that I can start working right away in the morning and stay working until they get home.

9 years ago today we got married.  13 years together. Since we were 17.

A lot has happened in those 13 years.  We went to prom, graduated high school, college, got married, bought a house, had a daughter, bought another house, had another daughter, have had an amazing family to include three amazing dogs.

It hasn’t always been easy. For those of you that really know me, you know that I’m determined and strong-willed and extraordinarily stubborn.  I can imagine that can make me tough to live with – but not to Chris. He’s my perfect counterpart. He puts up with my late night working, my dedication to being amazing at whatever I do, he’s a constant support. He’s really good at being my even keel when my head is in the clouds.  He was born to be a dad and is truly and honestly the best father I could’ve imagined.

I could not have asked for a better person to spend my life with.  Honestly. People don’t get this lucky. I still don’t know how I did.

To my husband: happy anniversary. Thanks for putting up with me all these years – and smiling every minute of it.
