Forbes Candies has been in business for over 95 years, based right here in Virginia Beach. When they reached out for some Virginia Beach small business marketing – we were PUMPED. Did I feel like a kid in a candy store or like Charlie from Willy Wonka when they took me through their factory? Sure did. Seeing how they made the chocolate eggs, the hollow chocolate bunnies and more was SO cool.
While Forbes Candies has changed hands a few times over the years, it’s still owned by someone who has spent years and years loving it as a local business. Marty, who runs the company, was actually in the warehouse decorating eggs. This is a company that cares so much about the community and its employees – and it’s been a pleasure to get to know them. I also would be remiss if I didn’t thank the folks over at Sugar Plum Bakery. They referred us to them, and we’re so excited to work together.
