One of the horses that I’ll die on is the importance of building real relationships on the internet. So many people want a quick fix to their social media, but I’ve got news for you – building relationships, real ones? That doesn’t happen quickly. So why are you expecting your social media to be an instant success?
I’ve always been a firm believer that social media is supposed to be social. You’ll hear me say it time and time again. It’s important – crucial, even. Sure, if you’re just selling products and don’t want return clients or customers to help you with word-of-mouth? Don’t worry about building relationships. Just make posts and hope that people bite. I don’t know about you, but I’m all about supporting people and brands that I can get behind. Don’t you want to support people you believe in? Don’t you want to follow a story that you’re invested in – because you’re invested in the person behind the business?
It’s part of the reason we update our headshots and content photos so frequently. It’s important that we can tell you the story behind the business – so you can support the people behind them. I get it, though. You probably aren’t selling yourself online (or maybe you are- but that’s a whole different story). Whether or not you realize it, even just a transaction is a relationship. The more you put into it, the stronger it is.
That’s the exact reason that we have regular monthly meetings with our clients. That’s why we let you get to know your social media manager. If we want to build relationships on your behalf, doesn’t it make sense to also have a relationship with our team and get to know us?
If you’re interested in building a relationship with us so we can build great relationships on behalf of you? Send us a message. We’d love to talk more and help you and your brand succeed.
