This year was a freaking ADVENTURE when it comes to second-shooting. I got to go to awesome places, I got to meet amazing couples, and I got to work with 4 super fantastic photographers that are amazing and wonderful and hooked it up with some really, really fun days. Not only that – but I got to help photograph weddings in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, Hampton, Cape Charles, Charlottesville, Afton, New York City, New Mexico, Washington DC – all the places. When I say that it was an adventure – it was a true, amazing adventure and I loved every freaking second of it.
The coolest part about second-shooting for me is that I don’t actually want to be a wedding photographer on my own – I like just being a photographer. I like going, taking pictures, getting to meet cool couples and people and have a lot of fun, and letting the wedding photographers that I work with edit them to their own style that their clients have hired them for. It’s SO cool (and you’ll see as you go through these) how different each photographer is. It’s cool, because they teach me so much about how and why they do things, and they’re all a little different. And to me – that’s so fun and important.
It also means that I get to hang out with the guys, which is always fun, because they’re generally laughing, having a good time (and sometimes drinking). I like getting to know them and their personalities and do what I can to fit into the day.
So without further ado – here are some of my favorite pics from the weddings that I got to second shoot with Mike Dragon of Dragon Studio, Bryan Brough of EyeCaptures Photography, Kelley Stinson of Kelley Stinson Photography, and Valerie Demo (PSA – each collage of pictures is captioned with the photographer who I shot the wedding with – and who also edited them!).
Aaaaand – just for fun, some games of behind-the-scenes pics that I found in the galleries:
