Fandemonium Design {Virginia Content Photography}

Katie – the creative behind Fandemonium Design – drove from Baltimore to meet me in Richmond, Virginia for updated content photography. The fact that we needed to pull this off during a pandemic encouraged all of us to brainstorm, mask up, and make it happen.

And that’s exactly what we did.

Sarah, of Darling and Dapper, bundled up and did all of Katie’s hair and make-up outside.  On a pretty cold day.  With minimal access to the types of luxuries you enjoy when in a studio.  Looking through the gallery, you would never know any of this.  I like to think we brought a little something extra to the James River Pipeline that day…and that something extra stuck around with us for the rest of the shoot.

Katie is a self-proclaimed nerd who is looking to completely redefine what it means to be a nerd.  She creates art that “recasts fandom stereotypes” in a way that is meant to feel inclusive.  Her recent collection, inspired by Dr. Who, feels mystical and elegant, both out of this world and yet the perfect accent to your home.  Each of her creations is born from a true passion and show-off her professional skills as a graphic artist.

To top it all off, she is a hell of a good time.

Be sure to check out her online store, which also includes prints, notecards, and stickers.  She also has a list of her  favorite tools and creators if you are interested in digging deeper into the world of fandom and design!

Fun Fact:  two of Katie’s outfit choices were inspired by Dr. Who.  Can you spot them??
