Doesn’t it feel awesome to get a good review?  Not just kind words via email (although, those are great, too, so keep ’em coming!), but someone who has gone out of their way to tell people that you’re great?  Reviews in the true sense of the word can mean that someone is referring you and saying how fantastic you are, or that they’ve written a review on Facebook, Google, The Knot, Wedding Wire, Yellow Pages, etc. about you.

Alan Berg always says that reviews are great to use in marketing – these are the things that people say about you that you can’t say about yourself.  Sure, you might know these things to be true, but to say them might make you come off self-absorbed.  When you don’t use reviews to help grow your business, you’re missing out on a huge (free!) marketing piece.  You’ll find that in most of my marketing plans for my clients, there is a place for reviews for this very reason.  Let your work speak for itself – and let your clients speak for you.  Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for reviews as well – they can be the lifeline for your business.

On that note: I added a reviews page to the website!  I needed to wait until I actually had some, but it’s there, so be sure to check them out.  You’ll also see some of my client work there as well!
